At the 59th national awards presentation on 3rd May 2012 at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi the best regional films director Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli for 'Koormavathara' and producer of the film Basanthkumar Patil received the honors from Vice President of India Mr Hamid Ansari in the presence of information minister Smt Ambika Soni.
According to the new guideline the national awards every year will be presented on3rd May as it synchronizes with the release of the first silent film 'Raja Harischandra' 99 years ago.
Reacting to the statement of the Vice President of India Hamid Ansari Padmasri Dr Girish Kasaravalli said he was surprised with such a statement. According to the observation of Dr GK from dubbing culture the possibility of becoming rich is a big lie. Only rich class of producers become even richer by killing the culture and tradition of state.
