It is known that Chiranjeevi's name has been dragged in the context of Income Tax Department raids on the residence of his daughter's in-laws in Chennai. Chiru had to clarify that the raids did not have anything to do with him and that they were just an extension of the IT investigations into the businesses of his daughter's in-laws.

With the IT department now revealing that Rs. 35 crores have been seized from Chennai, curtains on the innuendos have been brought down.

Siva Prasad, Chiru's 'viyankudu,' is a well-known businessman in Chennai.
