Art house director R Sharath is quite happy that his new movie 'The Desire- A Journey of a Woman' a passionate story about dance, music, art and love that knows no borders, will be finally on Indian screens soon. The movie which has won the award for the Best Narrative Feature Film, at the Geneva International Film festival held in 2012, and also has visited much of the major festivals around the world feature Shilpa Shetty and Xia Yu in the lead roles along with Jaya Prada, Anupam Kher, Sheetal Menon and Sachin Khedekar.
Basically a bi-lingual which has portions in Hindi and Chinese is about a lesbian love between an Odissii dancer and a Chinese painter. Shilpa plays an Indian classical dancer Goutami, and her love affair is with Chinese artist Jai Leang, whom she meets during a travel assignment. The soundtrack is scored by the acclaimed composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, whilst the background score is composed by Vishwa Mohan Bhat.
