For a director who never intended to make a film with a superstar for the sake of making one, the announcement that he approached a superstar to narrate a story is big news.  "He told me that we shall do it," he said yesterday, without revealing the name of the hero.

He cast Nani in Paisaa on being impressed watching him in Ride.  "Certain elements in the film reflect today's political realities.  But the scenes are not targeted at any one in particular.  The film revolves around the theme of how men are using money and vice versa."  Catherine  is the film's heroine.  Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji and Raja Ravindra have crucial roles.

Paisaa is only a tentative title.  KV does soul-searching regarding the failure of Mogudu.  "That was the only film in which neither the story nor the screenplay was right.  Chakram may not have earned profits for the producer but people still tell me that their thinking pattern changed after watching the movie," he says.
