The best ever screenwriter of Indian cinema , M T Vasudevan Nair , popularly known as M T celebrates his 80th birthday . The most popular popular and prolific writer of Mollywood, but maintains that he have done a little and wish to do more. Even before a filmy celebrity, M T remained famous as a litterateur with popular novels like "Naalukettu" (The Legacy), Randamoozham (The second turn) "Asuravithu" (The Demon Seed), and "Kaalam" (Time). He has been showered with many awards ranging fromPadma Bhushan and the Jnanapith, for his contribution to Malayalam literature.
In his filmy career as a director and screenwriter, he has been able to present some great talents like Mammootty , with whom he still maintains good rapport. Though some of his best like Oru Vadekan Veeragatha", "Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja" and "Sukurtham" were written for Mammootty, M T also scripted some film characters like that of "Amritham Gamaya", "Thazhvaram" and "Sadayam" for Mohanlal.
