'Sivaji' - Nationwide Coverage

Directed by Shankar and produced on the banner of AVM Productions, the prestigious film 'Sivaji' with South Indian Super Star Rajnikanth and Shriya in the lead had hit the screen on June 15. Music director A R Rahman and national award-winning cinematographer K V Anand are also part of the Sivaji team. The story of the film is about the fight against black money in society, which the protagonist does in his own way.

Jubilant fans of actor Rajnikanth thronged cinema theatres in Chennai since early hours as his much-awaited film Sivaji - The Boss hit the screens with a bang on Friday. A wave of enthusiasm swept the State as Rajnikanth's die-hard fans burst crackers, performed pal abhishekams and distributed sweets to celebrate the film's release. Fans at theatres including AVM Rajeshwari, Kamala, Udhayam, Devi and Albert had a galatime.

The film is being screened in over 300 theatres across Andhra Pradesh. In Hyderabad alone the film was released in over 44 theatres including Devi, Rajadhani, Prasad's Multiplex, Cine Planet Multiplex and Mallikarjuna. This was a record among all dubbing films released in the city so far.

In Maharashtra, with a record 17 prints making it a milestone of sorts. Regional films would usually have a one-print release and that too only in metros such as Mumbai. But Sivaji is attempting to change the dynamics a bit - the film will be simultaneously released in Nagpur, Kolhapur and Aurangabad, among other centers. It is also for the first time that a Tamil film is being released in more than five multiplexes in Mumbai. If Aurora has Rajnikanth fans blocking tickets, then PVR Mulund has A R Rahman fans taking over a couple of shows.
