Abraham and Lincoln - Another techno fare
IndiaGlitz  [Monday, March 12, 2007]

Ouseppachan is a veteran and skillful music director who may not have got his due, even after composing large number of super hits all through the last 23 years.

He is a consistent performer who is at ease in every type of song. Though he has been accused of copying, he has a varied repertoire and his songs always reflect his range and depth.

This time famous poet Balachandran Chullikkad has teamed up with some good lyrics to support the composer's techno beats. The album has six songs in total. Giving you a feel of a techno album, the songs are mixed with great élan and style.

1. Udurajamukhi Singer: Manjari

The album starts with thus number repeated again in male voice. The tune of the song is a straight lift from the opening song of the sacred chant series. This numbers is also melodious with traditional rhythms and the song gives a feel to the audiences that they are enjoying an old classic. Manjari's sweet voice elevated the mood in the song. The singer had puts in lots of melody in this song and is worth listening again and again. Though the tune looked a little old, the melody in it will make the audiences to forget the feel and enjoy it well.

2. Thakkida Tharikida Singers: Balu, Jyotsna, Franko, Naja

This is a youthful, beaty song by Balu, Jyotsna, Franco and Naja go full blast in this rangy tune. It is a dance number which proves that the ample mix-up of traditional instruments like violin, chenda, tabla and flute as well as modern instruments like key board could give the energy to a rhythmic song. Though the song is a typical fun beat one, the singers give out their best and lift it to acceptable levels.

3. Indrasabha Singer: Sayanora

This is a different song in the album thoroughly enjoyable with Sayanora crooning with delectable ease and fun. With her typical rendering styles, and a very good lyrical support, the rollicking number with techno beats can uplift any sagging spirit with it zest

4. Swapnamaralike Singer: Naja

This brings into fore another new singer Naja. She presents the best song of the album, a soft melody number rendered in husky voice with great feel. The song is also high in literary values, typical Chullikkad style, which can elevate the soul.

5. Dhikiri Dhinkale Singer: Kalabhavan Mani

As usual with every Mani films, Kalabhavan Mani comes up with the highlight number. As the song was a folk tune, Mani's tone suited it well. The lyricist tried to bring in the fun, put in the context of kurathy' of nadan pattu and the moods of the couple in the song. However, it is good to listen to the songs with a traditional dance rhythm and the sweetness of beats mixed with violin at its best, which enthralls the audiences.

The highlight of the album is that it includes every music types mixed up in the creations. A few of the songs may get into the chart tops with the release of the film.
