Malayalam cinema had been instrumental and famous for recreating the actual murder mysteries into thrilling movies. The trend which started in the early seventies had to its credit plenty of movies like 'Lekheyude Maranaam Oru Flash Back', 'N H -47','Crime File' and 'Thalappavu' which were all based on or, inspired from real life incidents. Adding to this list is the new movie 'Kanichukulangarayil C B I'.
Kanichukulangara triple murder case which hogged the headlines for more than a month is finally being made into a movie. The case was largely talked about as one that was planned deliberately on the 'N H 47' by knocking down the car and killing the passengers by a speeding Lorry. Suresh Vinu, the director of the light hearted movies like 'Kusrurthy Kaatu' and 'Aayushman Bhava' is coming back with this investigative flick 'Kanichukulangarayil C B I' taking a different route but close look on the incidents that lead to the killing of one of the biggest financiers of the state.
The movie will feature Suresh Krissna and Manoj K Jayan as the investigative officers who are into a detailed probe on the case. The original prosecution case was that, a lorry driven by the men of prime accused purposefully rammed a Tata Safari carrying the financier and two others near the Autokast factory at Kanichukulangara. . The murder was allegedly ordered by two who had parted ways a few months earlier to set up their own firm.
In the film, the story is about a financial firm named Aanamala Chit Funds, run jointly by Ajith and Suresh. The financiers are the most trusted of the lot in market, mainly due to the hard work of its young manager named Ratheesh. One fine day Ratheesh gets killed in a road accident at Kanichukulangara. A few days after, Ratheesh's father comes up with the allegation about murder which is then handled by Dy. S.P James George. And after a while one of the shrewdest inspector of CBI, Arjun 'makes its entry into investigations. While Suresh Krishna becomes James George, Manoj K. Jayan plays the key role, as Arjun. The movie will also feature Saikumar, Lekshmy Sharma, Meghanathan, Rajan P Dev, Sudheer, Kollam Thulasi, Sadiq, T P Madhavan, Resmi Soman, Darshan and Gayathri in other key roles. The movie will also have director Nizar playing a cameo as Kandararu.
'Kanichukulangarayil C B I' scripted by Harikumaran Thampi will have a few songs set to music by S P Venkitesh in the lyrics of Vayalar Sharth Chandra Varma. M D Sukumaran handles the camera while P C Mohanan does the editing. The movie produced by Sreekumaran Thampi in the banner of Himalaya productions will grace the theatres by the first week of July.
