Traffic Preview

The new generation movie directors in Mollywood are starting to think different in terms of narratives and presentations. It is very much evident in the new movies that are getting ready to grace the theaters in the coming months.

One of the movies that is eagerly awaited in terms of this narrative experiments is 'Traffic', the new flick by young director Rajesh R. Pillai, who debuted with the movie 'Hridayathil Sookshikkan, that came out five years ago.

This time Rajesh will strictly follow the scripts penned by Bobby-Sanjay, who are ready to present the first real 'multi narrative' movie in Malayalam. 'Traffic' like the famous movies by Alexander Gonzalves Inarittu, will tell the different stories of many protagonists connected at some point of time.

'Traffic' will tell the story of a number of characters and an incidents that join them together on a 16th of September, the very day when superstar Sidharth Shankar (Rahman) is getting ready to have his latest film's release. On the same day, Traffic Constable Sudevan is trying ways to join back his duty, after being suspended from service for a short period. The same day is also special for Dr Abel, who is celebrating his first wedding anniversary while Raihaan, an youngster is hoping to go big from his beginning as a TV channel reporter, that he is going to join that day. Planned as an emotional thriller, every character is of equal importance as the story unfolds.

Apart from these four protagonists 'Traffic' will also tell the stories of many other characters related to them. While Sreenivasan is Sudevan, Kunchakko Boban is Dr Abel. Rehman is the superstar Siddharth Shankar while Vineeth Sreenivaasan is Raihaan. The movie also will have Asif Ali as Rajiv, Anoop Menon as Nassar, Sandhya as Aditi, Reena Basheer playing Sudevan's wife, Roma as Miriam, Remya Nambeesan as Shwetha, Dhanusree Ghosh as Vygya and Jose Prakash as Vetri.

The movie produced by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic frames will have musical scores composed by Mejo Joseph and Sejo John, while lyrics are by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and S. Rameshan Nair. Shyju Khalid handles the cinematography and Mahesh Narayanan does the editing. Shot on various locations at Ernakulum, Palakkad, Nelliyambathi, Kuttikanam and Coimbatore, 'Traffic' will be one of the first releases of the New Year.
