Indrajith - Mani makes another try
IndiaGlitz  [Saturday, August 11, 2007]

Kalabhavan Mani has been in confusion in the recent times, following the continuous flops of movies that had him in the lead, this years films like Abraham and Lincoln, Nanma, Nagaram, and Rakshakan couldn't make any mentionable change in his box office results. And recently he seems to have decided to be part of many big ventures that have him even as the second hero, villain or strong supporting characters. But he had completed some films in the past that is still waiting to get released. Indrajith is one such film, which have him as the leader of the laymen who face all kinds of atrocities from the powerful social sphere.

In Indrajith, Kalabhavan Mani is Bhasi, the son of a known rowdy in the village Chembarunthu Bhaskaran. His father always wanted his son to become a bigger rowdy than himself, for some peculiar reasons. As a lot of people have their share of grudge against Bhaskaran and his family, he very well knew that his son Bhasi cannot escape from   these enemies and look after the family, if he turns more humane than a powerful gangster.

Bhasi, according to his father's wishes turns up as a powerful goonda and become popular as Changootam Bhasi. Even after becoming a rowdy, Bhasi had a heart of gold and stood for the downtrodden and helped them financially from the ‘Kuppam’-the money that he raised by Daadagiri.

As Bhasi's gang that included Rajeendran, Hakim, Jamal and Vinayan became famous within no time, stories started spreading about their bravery. He very soon evolved as the hero of many, including Vanaja and Sunantha, who start vying for his attention. But Bhasi had his own priorities as Lakshmi the daughter of the Panchayat President, befriends him and makes him walk the more lenient way, away from fights and enmity. But turning to a better man from a life immersed in Dadagiri was not that easy for Bhasi. with  the arrival  of Zaheer Mustafa  into Bhasi's life , his story heads for tougher times as Bhasi finds out that someone  even from  their  own gang too had some wrong intentions and  more shocking truths about their plot are revealed .

Rajesh Jayaraman pens the script for Indrajith, which is directed by Haridas. Rajan P. Dev plays Bhasi’s father Chembarunthu Bhaskaran, in the movie while Divya Viswanath appear as Lakshmi. The others in the cast include Riyas Khan, Baiju Kurup, Shalu Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Jagathi, Indrans, P. Sasikumar, Anil Murali, Sreejith Ravi, Tosh and V.C. Arun.

The film produced by Kalliyur Shashi, was expected to be in theatres by Onam .Now the movie will grace the theatres in a short while.
