 After the stunning success of recent films like 'Yes, Your, Honour' and ‘Arabikkatha’, Sreenivasan is back as the hero again in 'Ayur Rekha'. The film which tells a suspenseful; mystery story is based on the short story 'Rekhakalil Illathathu' written by K K Sudhakaran.
In the film Sreenivasan is Jacob George, who forays to investigate the death of Dr. Aparna, an attractive young lady who owned a prestigious hospital in the city. After separating from her husband, Dr.Venugopal (Sai Kumar), she lived with her 10-year-old son. Aparna, who have no known enemies, was found dead in her bed room. The initial investigations by the police pointed it as a suicide. But an anonymous e-mail that appeared in the police headquarters, suggested some intriguing facts that went on to say that Aparna was the victim of a cold-blooded murder... Superintendent of Police Jacob George immediately draws his interest into the case and starts to re investigate the case. Being an officer who never had been with the murder investigations, Jacob George has his share of doubts in every revelation that he passes through.
The other prominent characters in the film are Triprayar Madhavan (Mukesh), a struggling music director-cum-singer, who has a soft corner for Dr. Aparna, always trying hard to make a good impression on her so that he could eventually marry her. Aparna being beautiful and a divorcee, Madhavan thought that somehow becoming her husband will end his chaos and will allow him to lead a safe and secure life, there after. His tenant Thankappan Pillai (Jagathy Sreekumar), a senior medical representative, want to make good of this soft corner, by asking Madhavan to advice the doctor to take his medicines, for the hospital...
Dr Aparna's sudden demise puts a lot of persons, who loved to be with her, under suspicion. Was her death a suicide or murder?
As usual with this genre of Investigative thrillers, that have always been well-received in Malayalam, Jacob George is all set to grab the culprit who walks easily under the shades of power. Urvashi plays the wife of Jacob George while Nedumudi Venu is Captain Nair, administrative officer of the hospital. Mukesh appear as Madhavan, while Jagathy Sreekumar is medical representative Thankappan Pillai. The others in the cast include Lekshmi Sharma, Saikumar, Indrajith and Jyothirmayi.
The screenplay and dialogues of the film have been written by Dennis Joseph. The film has four songs written by O.N.V. Kurup and set to tunes by Sabeesh George.
‘Ayur Rekha’, being produced under the banner of S.K films by Sunny Koonamattom will grace the theatres in a short while.
