Why Do Big Stars Head to Mumbai?

IndiaGlitz [Monday, November 25, 2013]

Be it 'Thupakki', be it 'Thalaivaa', or 'Arrambam' or even the latest Surya-Linguswamy project, all the Kollywood big star films seem to shoot in Mumbai. But why is the K-town fleeing to B-town? The reason is the same complaint that FEFSI lodged to the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Ms J Jayalalithaa recently. The procedure to seek permission to shoot in Chennai is a lot cumbersome, while the precious time of big stars like Ajith, Vijay and Suriya ticks away. So filmmakers seem to prefer Mumbai, as it is convenient to shoot there; a close second in the list of preferences is Hyderabad, where again, procedures are simple.

FEFSI has already requested the Chief Minister's intervention into the matter. Will the issue be resolved soon? Until we have an evident answer to that, K-town will continue to fly to Mumbai.

Why is it Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham?
