The whole world is in awe with his music, but humble as ever Isaignani attributes all his prowess as a divine gift from the almighty. A devout theist, Ilayaraja has never let a year pass without his customary trip to Thiruvannamalai on the New Year's day, except this one. The veteran composer suffered a stroke and was admitted to the hospital; at the turn of the new year, he was on rest as strictly prescribed by the doctor. But Raja did not miss out on his annual pilgrimage. Though it's a little delayed, Ilayaraja paid his visit to Thiruvannamalai temple yesterday, and even completed the tough ritual of Girivalam. The composer has completely recovered from his stroke, and is doing well now.
