When it is the young composer Anirudh, there is no dearth of sensation. But for the past few weeks, he has been trending in the headlines for the wrong reasons - one was the money disputes with Nazriya's latest film, and the other was the unpleasant independent album. Initially, the upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual by Balaji Mohan, starring Dulquer Salman and Nazriya in the lead, 'Vaai Moodi Pesavum' was to have had Anirudh composing the tunes. The composer also drew an advance cheque for the project, but later backed off from the film, replacing Sean Roldan (Raghavendra) for him. However, he was reported to have not returned the amount to the film's producer Varun Manian. Now the composer has put that matter to rest, returning the amount in full to Varun, along with an apology letter for not composing for the film.
The other bigger issue was Anirudh's independent album, which did not settle well with the public. With generous amounts of obscene words thrown in, the song was considered an ear-sore by many. In response, Anirudh went ahead and removed the video from YouTube, as reported by the composer's father Ravi Raghavendar, to Chennai police commissioner. Ravi further explained that there were no malicious intentions behind the music video. However, the police say that they will continue to investigate on the issue, until the petitioner withdraws his complaint. Now the ball is in Jebadas Pandian's court.
