Tamil film industry is replete with actors who struggle to establish a strong hold even after proving their talent, handwork commitment. One such actor is Nanda. Who debuted in the film Mounam Pesiyadhe playin second fiddle to Surya, who was an upcoming star then. Eventually Nanda starred in a few more films as the lead hero but none of them had a telling effect on his career. He also proved that he can be good at playing a baddie with Eram, the film directed by Arivazhagan and produced by ace director Shankar. He acted in Ananthapurathu Veedu, another Shankar but that also failed to give him the much needed break. Nanda's upcoming film Puthiya Thiruppangal considered as an offbeat one direted by Saradha Ramanathan is ready and awaiting release for a long time.
On the other hand is Natraj aka Natty, a well established cinematographer in Bollywood. He donned the grease paint for the first time with the Tamil film Naalai. Though the film bombed at the box office, Natraj's performance was lauded by critics in unison and some even went on to state that looking him perform on screen reminded the days of Super star Rajnikanth playing negative and character roles. Later he acted in a film titled Milaga that had all commercial ingredients but the film failed to give him a break needed to make it big.
Now these two talented actors are acting together in a film to be directed by debutant Babu Thooyavan. The film is titled as Katham Katham, that sounds like one of the famous dialogues uttered by Superstar Rajnikanth in his film Baba. Both Nandha and Natty is said to play as cops in the film and the story is said to revolve around the tug of war between these two cops.
The film is to be produced by G.Karthik and Mrs.Mushthari of Appu Movies who have produced super hit films of the 80's like Anbulla Rajnikanth that had Superstar playing the titular role and Captain Vaidehi Kathirundhal that gave a big boost to Vijaykanth's career during his initial days.
The film's cinematographer is UK Senthil Kumar and the film is going to be the first Tamil film shot with Panavision camera. Taj Noor, the erstwhile assistant of A.R.Rahman, who debuted with 2010 film Vamsam direted by Pandiraj is making a comeback with this film.
