While Director Shankar is currently busy shooting his Ai with Vikram and Amy Jackson playing the lead roles, news about his next film have started emerging. Shankar considered as the most bankable and highly paid director of Tamil film industry is known for directing mega budget films and usually leaves a long gap between his one film and another. The news that topped Cinema websites and newspapers yesterday were completely contrary to this. They stated that Shankar has will start scouting location for his next project immediately after finishing Ai.

Regarding the hero who is going to team with the ace director this time, there were two stories doing the rounds. Some said that it will be Superstar Rajnikanth, and costliest actor-director combo is gearing up to churn out their third mega hit film together after Sivaji and Enthiran, the films released in 2007 and 2010 respectively.

Another story says that, it is true that Shankar had narrated a script to Rajni, but the latter has conveyed his inability to take up the project and also suggested the name of Ajith for the role that was offered to him.

However sources close to Thala Ajith have denied this. The reliability of Shankar-Rajni third time teaming up story is unknown as yet.
