Actress Shriya Saran is making a comeback to Tamil silver screen today. The Tamil version of her bilingual film Chandra is being released by Abirami Ramanathan all over Tamilnadu. The Kannada version released last year and garnered positive reviews and decent box office collections. The film touted as a historical fantasy film has been directed Roopa Iyer.

Shriya Saran has acted as a princess in this film. It's a character which is well versed in various art forms as well as self combating techniques.  Shriya has learnt Kalaripayattu, an ancient Indian martial art for her role in this film. For an actress generally known as a glamour girl who has proved her performance skills in a few films, this film is expected give equal importance in both the departments as suggested by the trailers.

Shriya's big day in Kollywood

Shirya debuted as a second heroine in Enakku 20 Unakku 18 and went on pair up with many leading heroes and stars during her hey days.  She has also got the pride of pairing up with Superstar Rajnikanth in the Shankar directed film Sivaji. She was last seen in the 2011 film Rowthiram in which she paired up with Jeeva. Despite the moderate performance of the film at the box office,  Shriya could not get any offer in Tamil after that.

If Chandra hits the bulls's eye it will pave way for the re entry of this pretty actress
