Mahendran and Ilayaraja one of the classic director-composer duo of 1980's is coming together for a new film. This will be the first film to be shot in digital version by the director who gave us some most memorable off-beat films like Uthiripookkal and Mullum Malarum.  Speaking about the maestro, the senior filmmaker said, digital. "Ilaiyaraaja has been an integral part of my films and his music will be crucial in this film too. We will start the composing by the end of this month."

Like Uthiripookkal, the new film is also based on a short story by prolific Tamil writer Pudumai Pithan. Speaking about the script the director said, "It is not a total adaptation but inspired by a few lines in the short story. The film deals with a problem that many middle-class families face today, and will be in my usual way of presentation." Though the film will be based in a small town near Coimbatore the issue dealt in the film would be universal, as assured by the veteran director.
