Pia Bajpai identified as a cute actress with ability to perform grabbed many hearts with her role as a sparkling journalist in the 2011 super hit film Ko. After that she has acted in only one Tamil film which was the remake of Sattam Oru Iruttarai released with the same title in 2012. Thanks to the poor box office performance of the film, the Poi Sollaporom girl is not to be seen in any Tamil films after that. But the bubbly actress is making a come-back in k-town with the upcoming film to be directed by renowned character artiste Lakshmi Ramakrishnan. Lakshmi's debut film as a director Aarohanam received enormous critical acclaim and it was women centric subject.
In a recent interview Piaa has said that Lakshmi approached her to do a film post the Delhi Medical student rape incident, but the film never took off. Later she invited the actress for a special screening of Aarohanam arranged at Delhi.Piaa admits that she was taken aback by the film and wanted to work with the director. Her desire came true when Lakshmi decided to cast her in her next film.
Denying the role of destiny in this pretty long gap in her career and her being chosen by a critically acclaimed director, Piaa says that it was her recent films did not do well at the box office and its natural that she did not get many offers. She has also stated that it was her decision to wait for good projects to come her way rather than going on a signing spree . The actress has told that she will continue with the same principle in the future as well
