Actress Priya Anand who is currently shooting for the film Oru Oorla Rendu Raja directed by R.Kannan has been harassed by a mob during the shoot. The film mainly revolves around a train journey that includes Vemal, Priya Anand and Soori who play the lead characters.
Recently a song was being shot in Mayiladudhurai Railway station. People in and around the city surrounded the spot to watch the shooting. The crowd went berserk on seeing Vemal, Soori and Priya Anand. They did not stop making noise even after the director requested them in mike to keep quiet.
The shooting had to be temporarily stopped and Vemal and Priya Anand went to their respective caravans. However some people claiming to be fans surrounded the Vanakkam Chennai actress and pestered her with compelling requests for her autographs and photographs. It is also alleged that some miscreants harassed the actress by dragging her hands. The security personnel had a tough time to clear the crowd and ensure Priya Anand's safety.
Speaking about the incident to a leading newspaper, director Kannan said, "More than one and a half lakh people including those who had come from adjoining towns like Chidamabaram. Cuddalore, etc, had come to watch the shoot. Police personnel could not control the crowd. We had to bear with it and continue the shoot since we had rented the Railwaystation on that day and cancelling the shoot would result in loss to the producer"
