'Balaji Mohan has a keen music sense' - Sean Roldan

Sean Roldan's debut album for the film Vaayai Moodi Pesavum directed by Balaji Mohan has been launched this morning by ace director Mani Ratnam in Chennai. The film has Dulqer Salman and Nazriya Nazeem playing the lead roles and it is being made as a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam.

Sean Roldan is a well known face in Cartnatic music circles by his original name R.Raghavendra. His mother Padma is the daughter of legendary Tamil novelist Sandilyan and his father is Srimushnam V.Raja Rao , a veteran Mridangam player.

Mani Ratnam Launches Vaayai Moodi Pesavum Audio

Speaking at the event the debutant composer said, it was producer C.V.Kumar who recommended his name to Varun Manian and Sashikanth, the producers of Vaayai Moodi Pesavum. The young music director said he immediately got along with the film's director Balaji Mohan and says reveals that the Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi director has a keen music sense which has not been noticed by anyone.

Speaking about the song in album, which the composer and the director have sung together, Sean said, "I heard him singing the title track during a composing session and got the idea of making him sing in the album. Since he was also interested in it both of us crooned it together and recorded it in a studio". Sean also added that a song performed by his band (comprising his friends) had been used by Balaj Mohan in the script as a reference for a particular song in the film. Sean said, when Balaji told this to him,  says he felt that he was destined to work in this film.
