It is being reported that Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna will play the lead roles in ace director Mani Ratnam's next multi-starrer. Now as per reliable source Mahesh Babu has backed out of the project citing date issues Mani Ratnam is looking a suitable replacement for Mahesh Babu and will be zeroing on a young hero very soon.
Nagarjuna has committed himself for the project. This will be the second film for the Telugu superstar with the veteran director after Geethanjali that released in 1989. The film was dubbed into Tamil and released with the tile Idhayathai Thirudadhey Both the versions were commercially successful and critically acclaimed.
Sources say that the new film of Mani will also be a romantic entertainer on the lines of Geethanjali and Alaipayudhey.
The film will also have Aravind Swamy in a pivotal role. It is to be noted that the Roja actor made a comeback in films with Mani Ratnam's previous film Kadal that released in February 2013. The source downplayed the speculations on Aishwarya Rai and Sruthi Haasan being part of the film by stating that the heroines of the film are yet to be confirmed.
