The first set of summer releases have been confirmed now. The summer treat in Kollywood will be initiated by the release of Sivakarthikeyan - Hansika starrer Maan Karate that will be released on April 4 along with Chimbudevan's Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavanigalum that will have Arulnithi and Ashritha playing the lead roles. For the grand Tamil New Year weekend starting with April 11,
Vishal's Naan Sigappu Manidhan is likely to have a solo release. The makers of Superstar Rajnikanth's Kocahdiiyaan which was supposed to release on the same day has not confirmed anything about the release so far.
Jagajala Pujabala Thenaliraman that will mark the comeback of actor Vadivelu which was expected to release on April 11, has been postponed to April 18. The releases have been planned in order to avoid box office clash. It could be inferred from the Twitter pages of Producers of these three films, that they have had a discussion to plan their releases in consecutive weeks so that each film can enjoy the best opening.
G.Dhananjayan the South head of UTV Motion Pictures one of the producers of Naan Sigappu Manidhan has thanked Archana Kalpathi the CEO of AGS Entertainments who have produced Thenali Raman for agreeing to release the film on April 18. He has also thanked S.Madhan of Escape Artistes Entertainment who have produced Maan Karate for avoiding the clash in box office. Archana has replied crediting Dhananjayan for initiating the dialogue between the producers.
The producers having a prior discussion and adjusting their release dates for the mutual benefit of each others, seems to be a positive trend emerging in Tamil cinema.
