"I was excited to work with him (Bala)," stated Varalakshmi who went on to share that she liked working with him a lot given the fact that he is known to be a task master. "Those who work with him know the best man in him," she stated.
On a lighter note, she went on to reveal that when he first met her, he noticed that she had put on some weight. According to her, Bala didn't seem to care about her acting skills; only thing he wanted was her to shed some kilos.
While she played a girl-next-door character in her debut movie, Varalakshmi graduates by doing a meaty role in her latest film - where she essays the role of a Karakattam dancer. Being a dance based film, the actress revealed that she had prepared for the role well ahead before the shooting. She not only did thorough study on the dance form but also had regular rehearsals for the same.
One of main aspect of the film, which is not news any more, is that audience will get to see Sashi Kumar in new avatar sans his beard. And coming to this, his leading lady in this film - Varalakshmi, like everyone, seems to be equally excited to watch him in 'without daadi' style. " I've not yet seen him without daadi (beard)," remarked the actress, "Very excited to see him." It seems she saw him during look-test, at a time when he was having his beard.
Earlier talks were that Shriya Saran was the initial choice for the film and later she was replaced by Varalakshmi. When asked about this, the actress said that she was not aware of this. "I don't know about this rumour. I was approached and I accepted. They did audition for lot of people. However ultimate decision is of Bala sir," concluded the actress.
Anyways we really hope, this movie brings out the best from Varalakshmi and hope Bala recreates his success story like his earlier ones and makes it a visual treat. As in words of Varalakshmi - "I can't wait to see the film" - we do feel the same.
