Anupama Kumar who is climbing up the laddes as one of the much sought after character artiste has left a mark in the hearts of fans with her performance in the films Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal, Thuppakki and Moodar Koodam. Now the actress is acting in a Hindi film titled 'My Son is Gay'. What's more interesting is that the actress has accepted the role without charging a penny just because she liked the subject.
The film is being directed by Chennai based film-maker Lokesh. Considering the budget Lokesh had approached Anupama to act in a smaller role in the film. But Anupama was highly impressed with the script that revolves around the emotional relationship between a mother and her son who is gay. Hence she accepted to take up the lead role and did not charge for acting in the film. Gay activist Nakshathra Bagwe acts in the role of her son and he too acts in the film without any remuneration.
Lokesh has decided to introduce crowd-funding concept from the next schedule of the film. He says he will soon start campaigning to raise funds from the public for the film.
