An attempt to kidnap the music director Harris Jayaraj for want of ransom has been thwarted by the Tamilnadu police.
A couple of days ago, Harris's wife Suma had received an anonymous call to her mobile phone, asking her to give Rs.20 lakhs, failing which her husband and their children will be kidnapped. Suma ignored the call assuming it to be a prank played by someone known to her but she got alerted when she received another call with the same demand on Monday (May 12) Morning.
Suma immediately lodged a complaint with the Valasaravakkam police who traced the phone call to a location in Thirusulam. They immediately nabbed Thirumalai, Arunachalapandiyan and Muthukrishnan who were responsible for the threat call to kidnap Harris for money. Another person named Mahesh had left the place before the police arrived.
Thirumalai was the driver of Harris Jayaraj and he had conspired with his accomplices to extract bulk money from the popular composer.
Meanwhile Harris was busy yesterday with the audio release of Jiiva-Thulasi Nayar starrer 'Yaan' and the songs have already started captivating the music lovers.
