Director Suresh Krishna who has given many super hit films and has worked with various star heroes of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film industries has entered small screen industry. The former assistant of K.Balachander is directing the epic 'Mahabharata' in a famous television channel and a few other serials in other channels. Now the senior director with 25 year long film making career is venturing into production.
Suresh Krishna will be credited as the Producer not for a feature film but for a television serial titled 'Arangetram'. The 'Baadshah' director has revealed in an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz that his maiden production venture will be a television soap that will focus about rape which has become one of the serious threats to Indian women and the society as a whole.
Spilling the beans on the project Suresh Krishna says, "Rape victims either die or survive. Those who survive hesitate to speak up thanks to the stigmas attached to rape. The victims of rape are punished for no mistake of them. My serial will focus on the emotional trauma faced by rape victims and their families. It will also have equal share of family sentiments and emotions and will be suitable to all audiences".
Suresh Krishna has also stated that he will not be directing the entire serial and will be supervising the direction. But he says he will be directing a few episodes whenever he finds the job interesting.
'Arangetram' will be telecast as a daily soap from 26th of May at 8 PM in 'Puthuyugam' channel.
