Mrudhula takes her lessons from Sripriya

IndiaGlitz [Saturday, August 09, 2014]

Mrudula Bhasker Vallinam

After playing a city-bred college girl in ‘Vallinam’ and a small town girl in ‘Marumuani, Mrudhula Basker will be seen in a rural girl’s role in her upcoming film ‘Thilagar’. For this character Murduhula seems to be taking lessons from veteran actress and the leading heroine of 1980’s Sripriya.

Mrudhula follows the words of her debut film director Arivazhagan who had stressed her the importance of bringing the right body language She says she watched the videos of actress Sripriya’s rural based films. Mrudhula says she watched Sripriya’s gait, voice modulation, dialogue delivery and how she handled those village costumes. Then she would practice them in front of a mirror to get into the character. MrudhulaMrudhula adds that when they started shooting for the film she just had to take care of dialogue and emoting part since she was already into the character and attributes it to Sripriya who has donned rural roles in many films with superior finesse.

The film that is set in 1990’s has been shot in unseen locations in and around Tirunelveli by director Perumal Pillai. The film’s hero is a newcomer Dhruv and the film is his home production, the star cast includes Kishore and Anumol.

A bathing scene was shot with Mrudhula in Thamirabharani River. The young actress battled the strong currents in the river for the whole day.  The team had fun while shooting the scene since a herd of buffaloes crossed near her when she was in the river. That was also shot by the film’s cinematographer Rajesh Yadhav as candid shots Worth for bloopers

Its a wrap up for Kamal and team
