Belonging to the league of prolific writers, he is one of the most cherished and followed, fairly noncontroversial celebrities of India. For all this, his job is not showbiz. We're talking about the man who put a paperback in almost every hand, and made the entire country turn page after page, no matter whether they have already been avid readers or not. Thanks to Chetan Bhagat, his concept that hits the audience's psych bang on, and makes it impossible for anyone to put his book down, the number of book lovers in the country has increased remarkably.
All his novels are best sellers and they have all been adapted into movies. And with Sajid Nadiadwala's Salman starrer 'Kick', Chetan opens up that he has found a new avenue to convert his creativity into mass entertainment. Speaking on the 'Kick' experience, Chetan was noted saying "This is a new avenue that I have stepped foot in. I seem to be getting more and more offers for screenplay after 'Kick'. We ensured that the story included contemporary changes from its original make in Telugu, and also that each scene suited Salman.
The result is tremendous, all thanks to Sajid and his team." Out with the screenplay, when asked when Chetan would don the director's hat, Chetan disappoints a bit, saying that is not any time soon. "Right now, I'm too busy, getting my next book to be out this October. If is an urban-rural love story, titled 'Half Girlfriend'."
