With the controversy brewing that P Vasu had paid no royalty for making Chandramukhi from Malayalam, moves are afoot at some quick troubleshooting.
Vasu has vehemently denied reports that appeared in few sections of press that his Chandrmukhi starring Rajnikanth is a remake of Malayalam blockbuster Manichitrathazhu.
He says "I bought the remake rights of the Malayalam movie to do a Kannada movie only, whereas Chandrmukhi's script and storyline is an improvisation of just an one-liner from that Kannada movie.
"How can I do a remake when the project involves an actor like Rajnikanth and a respectable production house like Sivaji Productions. There is no necessity to do a remake for all my direct Tamil movies have succeeded in the past", he adds.
