BF gets the boot

It had to happen.

After all the pressures and pulls over the title, something had to give. It has.

Well, the big news is that S J Suryah, after talking tough for so long over the name of his next film BF, has acquiesced to change it.

The controversial director who seems to revel in such issues has silently made his move to change the title from BF to something else.

BF had come in for criticism on two counts. Though Suryah has been saying that it refers to Best Friends, many others felt it to be otherwise. Then there was the protest from Tamil Protection Movement which was opposed to it on the grounds of it being in English.

It is not clear as to under which pressure that Suryah buckled. But he has announced in a Tamil magazine that he is changing the title of the movie.

What more, he has also let the choice of the film's name to the public itself.

Offering a prize of Rs. one lakh, Suryah has said that title should be in Tamil and has to have just two letters (his films are always like that Kushi, Vali, New). He said that he will announce the new title on the day of the release of the film's audio.

So all is well that ends well.
