A galaxy of Kollywood artistes will come under one roof to felicitate the melody queen of south India, P Susheela, who has sung over 25,000 songs in various south Indian languages in her career spanning over five decades in filmdom.
The singer who dominated the playback singing in 1950s and 1960s, will render a solo concert on 26 June in which almost all prominent music directors and actors and actresses of Kollywood will come together to shower encomiums on her for her rare achievements.
The music concert to be presided over by the veteran music composer duo Viswanathan and Ramamurthy will also have maestro Ilayaraja taking part.
On the show, Susheela says, "after a long gap, I perform live on the stage. I am a great lover of music and I will strive to sing on stage till my last breath", says Susheela.
For the industry it is a good opportunity to show how much they value the contributions of Susheela --- the true nightingale of South.
