'Captain' Vijayakanth, who gave a call to his fans on Sunday to quit respective political parties in which they are currently associated with, has incurred the wrath of DPI leader Thirumavalavan.
Thirumavalavan, who is also spearheading the self-appointed Tamil Protection Movement which has been in a fight with certain sections of the against Tamil film industry, cautioned his cadres not to fall prey to Vijayakanth's gimmicks.
He said: "let's stand united at this hour. All my cadres should be vigilant of Vijayakanth's tall claims and work towards the success of DPI in the forthcoming Assembly polls."
Meanwhile BJP leader S Thirunavukkarasar on Monday in response to Vijayakanth's statement that there is no wrong in using the image of former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran in his party flag, said, "by using the name of MGR, no one can dream that he can become his successor.
Starting a party in September and aspiring to form a government in the next few months would only turn out to be a day dream".
Vijayakanth seems to have touched a raw nerve among politicians.
