Laxmi Rai is fast emerging a popular actress in Kollywood.

The actress who made her debut with Uthayakumar's Karka Kasa Dara is now playing the heroine in two movies in Kollywood including one opposite Parthiban.

Her debut Telugu venture Kanchanamala Cable TV with Srikanth has been released last week.

An elated Laxmi Rai, thanking Uthayakumar says, 'after I won Miss Belgaum title, I acted in a few commercials. After checking my profile, Uthayakumar sir called me for screen test and was impressed with me. He immediately gave me the job to play the heroine in Karka Kasa Dara'.

A frank and outspoken Laxmi Rai says, ' what's wrong in glamour? If the script demands a glamorous role, there is no wrong in doing it. However I ensure that it does not go obscene'.
