Meenal, who shot to fame playing Cheran's sister-in-law in Thavamai Thavamirundu, is a busy actress today. She is acting in over six films now.

'It was a sheer accident that brought me to acting, says Meenal, 'My father runs a export garment factory in Coimbatore and it was my childhood dream to become a entrepreneur. When I took my business studies, my friends urged me to try acting in films. I came to Kodambakkam and happened to meet Cheran once. Thanks to him, my journey has begun'.

'I was thrilled when several popular directors and producers called me and appreciated my performance in Thavamai Thavamirundu, she says and adds,' now, I am busy with enough offers including Aadum Koothu directed by Malayalam director T V Chandran'.

'I want myself to be identified as an actress who can do challenging roles', she adds.
