Noted director turned actor Manobala joined AIADMK in the presence of Chief Minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Monday.

He joins a slew of film personalities including Vijayakumar, Murali, Senthil and Liakath Ali Khan who joined the party recently.

Manobala started his career as director and rendered several blockbusters including Rajinikanth's Oorkavalan.

Recently he took to acting and his roles in movies Pithamagan and Anniyan won him good name.

He is a busy actor today acting in over a dozen movies.

It may be recalled that Manobala was recently selected for the Kalaimamani award by the State government.
