Vindhya, who entered politics recently by campaigning for AIADMK in the recently concluded State Assembly polls, has been evincing interest to perform action-oriented roles.

A fan of Vijayashanthi, Vindhya has been learning martial arts at YMCA grounds in Chennai. Vindhya is to play the lead-role in a movie titled Azhagu Nilayam which is action-packed throughout.

Meanwhile, director S A Chandrasekhar has cast Vindhya in the role of a rough and tough cop in his forthcoming directorial venture that would star Chithiram Pesuthadi fame Naren and Pooja in the lead roles.

Vindhya plays an encounter specialist in the movie.

Says Vindhya, actresses show little interest in stunt sequences. Perhaps Vijayashanthi was an exception. I am keen to act in such roles and set a different path for myself'.

From glamour to guns, Vindhya has indeed come a long way.
