There have already been reports about Superstar Rajinikanth getting awed by the Kannada film Jogi. He also insisted Keyaar to buy the remake rights of the film and though he wanted to do the film, he could not concentrate on it due to the heaving schedules that Chandramukhi, his last film, demanded. Hence Rajinikanth, who even saw the film at a public theatre in disguise along with the commoners, gave up on the idea.

When Keyaar thought of a suitable person to play the lead role in the film, Dhanush was the first and only name to come to mind.

Now, the news making rounds in Kollywood is that Dhanush has experimented with different get-ups for the film, to the extent that it can be compared with the different looks that his father-in-law and Superstar of Tamil films, Rajinikanth sports in his forthcoming magnum opus Sivaji.
