Director Bala's Naan Kadvul initially produced by P L Thenappan witnessed change of hands. Then Arya suffered injuries while shooting for the movie and then came the problem of heroines.

Bhavana, who was initially cast as the heroine was given the boot. Rumours started to do round that Bala has approached Karuppasamy Kuthagaikarar Meenakshi to do the role. Then the names of Malayalam heroine Parvathy Milton and Thamizh MA heroine Anjali did rounds.

However sources close to Bala say the heroine has been finally selected.

According to them Karthiga, who acted in Thoothukudi has been roped in for the heroine's role in Naan Kadavul. She has been instructed not to talk to the media.
