Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan have been selected as the best actors for their performance in Chandramukhi and Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu at the annual State awards announced in Chennai on Thursday for the year 2005 and 2006.

Director Rama Narayanan will be presented with Anna Award, actor Vivek (Kalaivanar Award), director Thangar Bachan (Raja Sando Award), lyricist Thamarai (Bharathidasan Award), actor Ajith (MGR Award), Pa Vijay (Kannadasan Award), actor Vikram (Sivaji Ganesan Award) and playback singer T M Soundararajan (Thyaraja Bhagavathar Award).

The award would be presented by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at a function to be held in Chennai later.
