Close on the heels of Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss plea to Vijay to stop appearing in smoking scenes in his films, Pasumai Thayagam, an arm of the Pattalai Makkal Katchi in Tamilnadu, has made an appeal to prominent actors in Tamil cinema to go the same way.

The organisation has urged prominent actors like Ajith, Silambarasan and Dhanush not to have smoking scenes in their films.

It may be recalled that Vijay has accepted to Anbumani's request and announced that he would not smoke on screen anymore. It is now up to the prominent stars and filmmakers to decide.
