Director Sakthi Chidambaram has approached Tollywood star Vijayashanthi to play a pivotal role in his next film ‘Idi’.

‘Idi’ features Sundar C in the lead role. He teams up with Sakthi Chidambaram after tasting success in ‘Sanda’.

According to Sakthi Chidambaram, 'I have always been making films giving importance to comedy. But this did not give me the necessary footage and leverage in the industry. Hence I have decided to shift my focus to action films and I felt that Vijayashanthi would be the right choice for an important character in my film. Discussions are going on with her and I am positive about her reply.'
