Director Vasantha Balan will be introducing a newcomer Mahesh as the hero in ‘Angadi Theru’. Playing the female lead is ‘Kattradhu Thamizh’ Anjali.

Vasantha Balan rendered a poignant movie ‘Veyyil’, which was selected for screening at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. He is now gearing up to prove his mettle in ‘Angadi Theru’.

Mahesh was chosen from among 17,000 youngsters and after three-months of scouting.

“Mahesh comes from a very ordinary background. His father sells nuts outside a cinema hall, near Dindigul. And convincing him to allow his son to act was just one of the many challenges we faced”, says Vasantha Balan.
