Popular Tamil director Krishna was attacked allegedly attacked by a group owing allegiance to Kannada outfit in Bengalore on Friday.

Krishna, who directed 'Sillunu Oru Kadhal' starring Surya and Jyothika before, was shooting for a movie titled 'En Ippadi Mayakkinaai, produced by Kovai Thambi in association with Pyramid Saimira.

On hearing that a Tamil movie was shot, a group owing allegiance to Kannadas outfitr abruptly halted the shooting and physically assaulted Krishna, who tried to prevent them from entering the sets. The movie features Richarad alias Rishi in the lead role.

It may be recalled that Sarathkumar starrer 'Samuthiram' witnessed similar troubles when it was shot in Karnataka a few years ago.

The Hogenakkal water and cauvery river water dispute between the two States had often resulted in such fracas.
