Trouble brewed at the office of The Federation of Malayalam Cine Technicians Association (MACTA) in Kerala when two factions resorted to mindless violence. The association's elections were slated to happen on the 6th and 7th of September.
The current general secretary of the Association is director Vinayan and an opposing group that consists of directors Fazil, Siddhique and Joshi have been quite adamant in ousting Vinayan.
At a time when filing of nominations was taking place, supporters of both groups resorted to violence in which three people were injured including a policeman. As a result the dates of the elections have been postponed.
Violence in Cinema may be appreciated but never off screen skirmish. Hope the film industry learns this quickly.
