Balaji Sakthivel, who became best-known for his film ‘Kadhal’ in 2004, is sure one of the promising film-makers of Kollywood to come out with products that defy the set standards of so called commercial ventures.

After ‘Kadhal’ in 2004, he was associated with his mentor, ace director Shankar for the film ‘Sivaji-The Boss’. He came back after 3 years with ‘Kallori’, a realistic film starring Tamanna Bhatia and other newcomers in 2007 which did moderately well at the box-office. And now the director is ready to make his next film.

Balaji Sakthivel’s next venture would be ‘Vazhakku en 18/7’ for director Lingusamy’s production house Tirupati films. Both the hero and heroine would be debutants in this film. The hunt is taut at a rapid pace to find the perfect cast for this movie.

Sure, we can expect a movie sans commercial elements that defy set rules of success in Kollywood.
