Karunas, who is playing the hero in 'Dindigul Sarathy', has said he prefers doing comedy roles than playing the hero.

According to Karunas, 'I am acting in 'Dindigul Sarathy' because only a comedian can do that role of the protagonist. If similar roles come my way, I would consider playing hero. Otherwise, I am comfortable as a comedian.'

Stating that he is currently acting in nearly 15 films including 'Ayan', 'Silambattam', 'Rajathi Raja' and 'Panchamirtham', the comedian said the story of 'Dindigul Sarathy' would especially woo children.

It is the remake of a Malayalam hit film directed by Sreenivasan. Karthika plays his heroine. It may be recalled that comedians including Vadivelu, Vivek, Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu have gone ahead to play heroes only to return back and do comedy roles.
