AVM Rajeswari, wife of the late A.V. Meiyappan, founder of AVM Studios, died on Sunday. She was 87. She died at 8 pm at her house in Chennai following a prolonged illness.
 
She is survived by four sons A.V.M. Murugan, A.V.M. Kumaran, A.V.M. Saravanan, A.V.M. Balasubramanian and a daughter Meena Veerappan.
 
A well known philanthropist, AVM Rajeswari ran many charities and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs). The lady was the president of the AVM Charities and the Avichi Higher Secondary School. The old age home Vishranthi and Family Planning Association of India benefited greatly because of her services.
