If Tamil Cinema has a direct impact on youngsters, the whole of Tamilnadu would soon have girls gaping in awe at thousands of boys armed with six-pack abs.

The rate at which Kollywood actors are desperate to build and 'show-off' their six-pack-abs is simply blowing out of proportions these days. Probably they feel the only way they can appear macho onscreen is by appearing with six-packs.

It all started in Tamil Cinema with a shirtless Dhanush showing off his six-packs as he went out bashing Daniel Balaji in the climax fight scene of 'Polladhavan' – (probably inspired by the likes of Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan).

Then Suriya displayed his toned abs in the publicity stills of 'Varanam Aayiram'. Suriya is one actor in Tamil Cinema who has got the looks to go with a six-pack.

'Satyam' showcased Vishal with a six-pack in a song sequence. By this time the six-pack bug had started biting a lot of people. The likes of 'Jayam' Ravi and Arun Vijay have reportedly started working out for their respective six-packs and will 'show off' their prized processions when their films release.

Prithiviraj recently declared that he has successfully worked out and obtained a six-pack for the Mani Ratnam film 'Ravana'.

It is now the turn of Shaam. The actor who was introduced by the late Jeeva through the film 12B is working hard for his own six-packs. The actor is part of several projects now that include 'Anthony Yaar' and 'Agam Puram'.

Shaam had reportedly stated that he had a well toned body when he made his foray into tinsel town. But then people had told him that if he had a muscular build, he would only land up with villain roles. Since this is the season for six-packs, he has decided to sport one now.

However, it has to be stated that sporting a six-pack alone without an all-round muscular stature looks silly…. (like six-pack-abs and sagging biceps). A complete muscular balance needs to be present to look macho …. something many actors should take note of. Shyaam, however does have to physique to look good with a six-pack-ab.

Well….well….well….six-packs and Tamil Cinema seem to be made for each other these days. Wonder who's going to sport six-packs soon….T. Rajendher and Vijayakanth?
