Looks like Namitha is not entirely satisfied with the kind of roles she is being offered in Tamil films. She now wants to be known more as an actress who can handle serious, challenging roles rather than just appearing in some songs and oozing glam quotient to pull in the crowd.

This may be the precise reason for her decision on taking up a project in the Malayalam film industry which is known for giving female actors meaty roles and insist less on skin show.

The shooting of her first Malayalam film named ‘Black Stallion’ has already started. Having Kalabhavan Mani as the protagonist, this film is being made by the director duo Pramod-Pappan.

According to reports Namitha has been paid 25 lakhs which is a big amount when the remuneration of heroines in Malyalam Film Industry is concerned.
